The PROBLEM
Each year the temperatures in Northern India drop below freezing. In the rural villages many of the poor don't have adequate clothing or shelter to protect them from the cold.

As a result many of the very young and elderly freeze to death. Last year it was estimated that over 10,000 people died because of the bitter cold. While government agencies try to solve the problem, it seems that it never reaches out to those that are in the direst need. It's shocking to see that in the freezing cold of the winter many children run round with little or no clothes on, while the elderly have no cover to them warm.
The Solution
Every year, we distribute blankets to the poorest of the poor across India, which literally saves lives. From the Himalayas in the north to Leprosy centres in Hyderabad in the south, we have been able to distribute over 10 000 blankets to the poorest and most needy families. during Nov - Dec 2009. Each blanket will help these people, who have little or no clothing and shelter, keep warm over the freezing winter months.

India Hope Center

At the India Hope Center not only is this a home for the orphans fortunate enough to live there, but it is also cares about the orphans that they do not have the opportunity to care for.

Last year Christian Family Builders was able to help this wonderful group of people raise enough money to buy 665 blankets for the orphans living on the street.

In September the purchasing of these blankets will begin. On September 13, Vero Beach will be fortunate enough to have the President of this organization Lars Dunberg here in efforts to raise enough funds to purchase 2010 blankets.

Because we are growing

CFB demands are growing faster then what can be kept up with. We are seeking individuals in Indian River County or on the Treasure Coast that would like to volunteer for various positions and projects. Volunteers hours will vary according to job duties.
